Christopher Cartmill directs the second incarnation of NEW ORLEANS STORIES: READING TO RENEW at Nyack's historic theater — with performances by Natasha Williams, Brian Coats, Keith Byron Kirk, Bruce Kronenburg, Darrell Larson, Karen Kitz, Kathleen O'Grady, Suzie Devoe, John Wright, Kathleen Chalfant, Michelle Hurst, Elise Chabbert and more, plus film segments by Jonathan Demme. Proceeds will go to the Lusher Charter School of New Orleans (most of whose students are still living in FEMA trailers) to replace band instruments for the middle and high school.

As part of the Culture Project's IMPACT FESTIVAL, GROOP (Christopher, Barbara Hammond, Adam Langer and Jane Gennaro) curates and Christopher directs an evening of readings from the Delta accompanied by Derrick McQueen's transfixing a capella renditions of gospel hymns. Proceeds from this benefit will go to the Hancock County Library's rebuilding efforts.

Or take the JMZ to Marcy Ave. Walk two blocks west (toward the river) on Broadway, to Bedford Ave. Catch the B61 bus on the corner and take it to N7 (approximately 5 minute ride).
From the rest of Brooklyn! - Take the G train to the Metropolitan / Lorimer stop, transfer to the L train in the direction of Manhattan, go one stop to Bedford Avenue. Once out of the subway you’ll be on Bedford Avenue and North 7 Street, walk one block to N. 6th, make a right and walk 2 1/2 blocks down to #70. We're between Wythe Avenue and Kent Avenue.
From Manhattan by Car - Take the outer right hand lane across the Williamsburg Bridge, get off at the first exit (Broadway) and curve around to the right 180 degrees until you’re heading back toward the river on Broadway. At Bedford Avenue, the 2nd stoplight, make a right. Go under the bridge (you’ll be in the south streets) and continue on to North 6th street (about 10 blocks). At North 6 Street make a left and we’re 2 1/2 blocks down, on the left at #70. We're between Wythe Avenue and Kent Avenue.
Once you’re off the bridge the streets are all small streets with slow, neighborhood traffic. So you’ll have lots of time to see street signs and make decisions.

New Rough Magic Artistic Director Jack Carpenter wants to focus on creating original theatre for Lincoln. “The purpose of GO is to create opportunities to showcase the talent we have of every medium in our hometown. We are the only theatre company in Lincoln whose mission is to develop the unique artistic voice of Nebraska; that’s what Rough Magic and GO is all about,†says Carpenter.Â

Christopher's short play THE END OF . . . is performed as part of Gallatin's annual Arts Festival
Painter/poet Anne-Louis Girodet de Roussy Trioson flourished during the era of the French Revolution. A student of Jacques-Louis David, he assertively tried to out do his mentor. Yannik Mercoyrol, cultural attaché to the Consolute General of France, presents, with Christopher Cartmill, highlights of Girodet's literary work matched by a survey of his most noted paintings. Operatic parlor songs by composers like Glück and Offenbach are presented by singers from the Lyric Opera Center for American Artists.
